WILDERNESS FIRST AID
Wilderness environments create special situations not usually encountered in an urban environment. With ASHI’s Wilderness First Aid, instructors certified to teach CPR/AED, basic first aid, and have wilderness experience can take advantage of ASHI’s flexible instructional design.
This comprehensive 16-20 hour course meets the Boy Scouts of America Wilderness First Aid curriculum and guidelines.
Course content includes:
• Preparation and Assessment
• Preventing and Caring for Injuries
• Environmental Hazards
• Biological Hazards
• Medical Emergencies
CPR/AED certification (optional)
Intended Audience:
Individuals who require or desire first aid knowledge and skills in a wilderness setting:
• Boy Scout Leaders and Scouts
• Girl Scout Leaders and Scouts
• Search & Rescue Personnel
• Parks & Rangers Personnel
• Hikers, Bikers & Joggers
Course Length: 16-20 Hours
Course Tuition: $130 per person
Certification Length: 2 Years
Minimum of 10 students required to schedule off-site.
If CPR/AED certification not required, the tuition cost is only $95.00. Certification for Adult, Child, Infant CPR and AED needs to be registered before the course begins.
This class is provided in an outdoor environment and includes hands on scenario practice skills.
Recommended for age 14 years and up.
